Yeap, I’m talking about Ensiferum ( Which in Latin means “Sword bearer”) and about Metal Blade Records (which is English for KA-$h!NG ! ).
The Finnish metalheads have signed a Worldwide (that is … the Whole world) deal with Metal Blade Records.
Sami Hinkka (Bass/Backing Vocals) Commented on their official Facebook site:
We are really looking forward to our co-operation with such a great and legendary label as Metal Blade. The next full length album should be out in early 2015. We have already started working with the new songs and it’s obvious that the next album will be another step ahead for Ensiferum. And now that we have united forces with mighty Metal Blade nothing can stop us! The next album is going to be something that will rock the very foundations of folk metal genre.
“We also would like to thank Spinefarm Records for all these 13 years, it’s been as blast but now it is time for us to move on and head bravely towards new challenges.
The future looks bright for Sword Bearers!”

Later on the year they will be playing on HEIDENFEST 2013 alongside Country fellows Turisas and German based bands Equilibrium and Suidakra.
I’m very proud of these guys, I’m glad to hear all their hard work has finally paid off (not that it hasn’t paid off already).
Personally i’ve been following these guys from way back in time (In the most un-hipster way ever possible) and I’m glad they didn’t break-up after unstable line-up changes back in ’04-’05 when Jari, Jukka-Pekka and Oliver Fokin ( I like his name) all left the band and were perfectly replaced to form what today we all know as Ensiferum.
Let’s hope we see (and mainly hear) some more kickass Ensiferum albums in the future. It is said they will release some new material in early 2015.
